meizjan 2018

13.66$41.72$

2018 harvest available! – the same trees, the same period of harvest but the roasting is little bit more gentle comparing to 2017. Highly mineral and thick brew with typical “yan yun”. Wood, well baked bread, wild herbs with hints of dried fruit aroma.

It’s a fresh tea, arrived here just after third roasting. Month by month it will be more complex and refined, when the roasting aroma will settle down.

Excellent for long term storage.

Mei Zhan is a quite rare but traditional tea cultivar in inner area of Wuyishan. This middle roasted tea is made from old bushes (more than 40 years old) growing in famous Hu Yuan Keng. Leaves are healthy, big and strong and make the most mineral yancha I have tasted during last few years. If you want to see what is famous yancha’s mineral taste called “yan yun” you should definitely brew this Meizhan. The mineral character comes out not only from cultivar character but mainly from a great terroir with volcanic soil and natural farming.

In the taste you will find: forest fruits, cocoa, nuts and some aromatic wood and herbs. Real treat!!!
