Current batch comes from little bit more humid storage. Taste is very good but similar to traditional HK stored teas.

13th Sept 2024 – we are putting online only 10 pcs of 30 g samples.

This famous recipe from 1985 is still produced by big Yunnan factories. This is a cake which I call “8582 style” cause it was not made in any famous national factory – I am sure it’s from small private factory but its style is inspired by famous Menghai Factory recipe. The raw material is marked as lowish 8th grade, this recipe is perfect for long term storage. This is the reason that 8582  pu-erh is popular amongst tea lovers, especially from Hong Kong. This particular 8582 Sheng Pu-Erh is a perfect example of very good humid Taiwan storage. The tea was matured in natural taiwanese environment (not too dry, but not so humid like Hong Kong storages) and this is the reason why it is still so potent and vivid. When you brew our 1999 8582 Sheng you will find great sweetness, vibrant texture,  pleasant bitterness and long lasting aftertaste. The flavor developing in the mouth and nose is full of wood, honey and sweet apple skin notes mixed with something like dried fruits (pears, apples …). The Qi is quite strong, refreshing and stimulating.

Origin:  Menghai, Yunnan, China.

Vintage: 1999

Cultivar: Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica

Age of trees: plantation trees (probably young)

Description

Temperature of water and amount of leaves: 100 C 6,5g/100ml.
Suggested brewing method: Yixing clay teapot or gaiwan of low capacity. First, you should pre-heat empty teapot/gaiwan and tea cups with boiling water. When the teapot is warmed, then you put the tea leaves in. After smelling hot and dry leaves in the pot, rinse the tea for 20s seconds using boiling water and afterwards pour out all the water from your pot. The process of rinsing tea leaves is often defined as a waking the tea and is very important for quality of next brewings. Main aim of waking the tea is to remove caffeine and eventual pollution from old tea aged for many years. First drinkable infusion should be very short- not more than 10-20 second. We suggest to increase brewing time for 5-10 seconds in each next brewing.
