The highest quality old tree Dancong oolong from a very rare variety of Nan Jiang Xiang, named after the aroma of “south ginger” aka galangal (alpina galanga) used in Southeast Asian cuisine.

The tea is made from tall, old bushes, over a hundred years old, with a very deep and strong root system, what make this tea so rich and powerful.

Nan Jiang Xiang bushes grow in the highest parts of Dancong area and are very rare.

Flavour profile: fruity aspects of ginger aroma, galangal, ripe mango, magnolia, nutmeg, aromatic wood.

A distinct spicy bitterness combines with a wonderful sweet aftertaste full of resinous and fruity notes.

Tasting this multi-layered tea is an honour and a pure pleasure.

Origin:  Nan Keng Village, Wudong, Guangdong, China

Harvest: spring 2025

Age of trees: more than 100 years old

Cultivar/Tree Variety: Nan Jiang Xiang (南姜香) – south ginger (galangal) fragrance

Temperature of water and amount of leaves: 100 C 6g/100ml.

Suggested brewing method: Yixing clay teapot or gaiwan of low capacity. First, you should pre-heat empty teapot/gaiwan and tea cups with boiling water. When the teapot is warmed, then you put the tea leaves in. After smelling hot and dry leaves in the pot, gently pour the boiling water to the pot.  First infusion should be very short- not more than 10 second. We suggest to increase brewing time for 5-10 seconds in each next brewing.
