A niche green tea from Huangshan (the Yellow Mountains) in Anhui Province!
Green teas from Anhui are renowned for being very delicate, light and ethereal (Huangshan Mao Feng, Tai Ping Hou Kui, etc.).
Di Shui Xiang is an exception to this rule!
Di Shui Xiang, literally ‘the aroma of a drop of water’, is a green tea produced in small quantities in Shexian county.
Production of this variety only began in the early 1990s – so it can be described as a modern tea.
Chinese sources indicate that Di Shui Xiang was not created to compete with Longjing or Biluochun as a delicate green tea. Quite the opposite.
Its creators deliberately developed it to be more aromatic, more intense and more ‘full-bodied’, clearly distinguishing it from the classic light green teas of eastern China
The Di Shui Xiang we offer comes from a garden situated at a high altitude of 800 metres above sea level.
Flavour profile: minerality, notes of roasted chestnuts, green plant stems, a rich broth, very delicate smoky notes, and the aroma of sweet potatoes.
The infusion is rich, intense yet smooth and elegant.
